Global Entrepreneurship Summit 2019 Briefing at Ministry of Foreign Affairs in The Hague

Over 100 embassies were invited and briefed about the Global Entrepreneurship Summit 2019

On February 1st at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Hague, over 100 diplomatic corps were briefed about the Global Entrepreneurship Summit 2019, which will be co-hosted by the Netherlands and United States on June 4th and 5th.

The Global Entrepreneurship Summit aims to bring together about 2000 entrepreneurs, innovators and investors from all around the world. The summit will assume the form of a conference, festival and marketplace. The main objective of the summit is to promote entrepreneurship worldwide. It offers an international platform for companies to demonstrate their innovative solutions to major challenges facing the world today. Moreover, the summit provides a networking opportunity for participants.

Pete Hoekstra, the US Ambassador to the Netherlands, held a speech in which he noted that the summit will be truly a global celebration of innovation and entrepreneurship. Ambassador Hoekstra also encouraged embassies in the Hague to promote GES 2019 and help “make it a success for everybody.”

Joop Nijssen, project director for GES provided more context about the summit. He said “The aim of GES is to promote entrepreneurship worldwide and to tackle concrete global challenges in five sectors: Agriculture/Food, Connectivity, Energy, Health, and Water.”

The Global Entrepreneurship Summit will be free to visit, but the program is yet to be announced.
