The majority of us are aware that this upcoming film has been a hot topic of conversation. The highly anticipated film adaption of the literary phenomenon written by E. L. James will celebrate its international premier at the 65th Berlin International Film Festival.

However, the production of this long awaited film has not been without struggle. From difficulties in ownership of the rights to the movie, to the complications in casting actors that will stay true to the book. Even the declarations of the director Sam Taylor-Johnson are astonishing: “Being the Director of Fifty Shadows of Grey - It's like walking a knife-edge”.

But, at last the film has a final date and location to premier: Zoo Palast Berlin on Wednesday, February 11. The red carpet will be rolled out for the two main stars of the film: James Dorman and Dakota Johnson. Director, Sam Taylor-Johnson will also be present at the international premier.

Due to the erotic nature of the book with scenes of sadomasochism, it was hard to define the target audience for the film. In fact, the writer had originally suggested to  Motion Picture and the Association of EU that children accompanied by adults could see the film. According to Variety, the MPAA has labelled the tape as R rated (Children under 17 years old must be accompanied by an adult) due to "strong sexual content Including dialogue, graphic nudity unusual behavior". Otherwise, the producers would like “Fifty Shades of Grey” to be viewed upon as a love story.

Maybe  “Fifty Shades of Grey” is not a story of princes and princesses like Walt Disney taught us. It is a 21st century story of love. A story full of lights and shadows that make us ask ourselves more than one question. What are the boundaries when you are in love? What are you willing to risk for love?

We continue counting down the minutes to this release.
