It is rare for more wellness expertise to be concentrated in one place in this country: the Spa Star Awards ceremony took place on June 26th. These are awarded annually by the trade magazine Spa Inside and bring together the most recommendable addresses in German-speaking countries.

But of course, not all spas are the same and the details or framework conditions are different enough to justify seven different categories.

Last month, the most promising newcomer, the best city spa, the most convincing green concept, the most outstanding spa concept, the ideal health concept and the best spa team were all awarded; the SPA Star plus and a non-competitive special award were also presented in Magazine 3 of the Alte Saline in Bad Reichenhall.

The special award given by the jury went to the Bergkristall resort in Oberstaufen. The reasoning behind the award was: "As one of the top wellness addresses in Bavaria, the hotel scores points with its spacious, 2700 square meter Kristal Spa and impresses with other highlights such as the outdoor infinity pool and the large outdoor event sauna with a view of the hotel's own wildlife park and the favorite of all guests: top dog Hansi".
