The Meeting Point of the International Film Industry in February
The European Film Market (EFM) is a business centre during the Berlinale film festival where over 8000 buyers, producers, agents, distributors, exhibitors and financiers are given the opportunity to meet at the first major film market of the year. The mission of the EFM is primarily to provide a network platform, whether you are a budding producer planning to make your first film, or you are already a well-known filmmaker seeking buyers. There are organised events, panels, screenings, and talks during the EFM.
Harnessing the energy of Berlin and the passion for film, the European Film Market is the business epi-centre of Berlinale, which is one of the most important international film festivals in the world and the largest publicly attended film festival. It is the first date in the industry’s calendar and is regarded as an early indicator for the new film year.
Discovering new and emerging talents is one of the main purposes of the EFM, where international producers and financiers will work together to match partners with handpicked projects during an intensive two and a half day event.

The dedicated lounge on the second floor of the Martin-Gropius-Bau gives independent filmmakers a venue to meet and promote their projects.
In addition to the regular market screenings, the EFM will present a new programme of high-quality television series at the Market on Monday and Tuesday, February 9th and 10th. With a focus on Europe, these market screenings will highlight series from Germany, Scandinavia and the UK as well as North America and trends from around the world.
