Embassy Of Turkmenistan in Vienna Opens Cultural Week 2026
Exhibition promotes heritage and intercultural dialogue
June 08th, 2026The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Vienna inaugurated the cultural event “Independent Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of Purposeful Winged Horses” on January 12, 2026, as part of the Cultural Week of the Organization of Turkic States at the United Nations Office in Vienna.
The exhibition presented traditional Turkmen carpets, textiles, national garments, handicrafts, silver jewellery, and artistic depictions of the Ahal-Teke horse, one of the country’s most recognized cultural symbols. The display offered visitors an opportunity to learn more about Turkmenistan’s rich cultural heritage and artistic traditions.
The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the United Nations Office in Vienna, members of the diplomatic corps, officials of the Organization of Turkic States, and invited guests. The event highlighted the importance of cultural exchange in strengthening international cooperation and mutual understanding among nations.
By organizing the exhibition, the Embassy of Turkmenistan reaffirmed its commitment to cultural diplomacy through the promotion of national traditions, history, and creativity. The initiative demonstrated how cultural events can contribute to dialogue, friendship, and collaboration within the international community.
