H.E. Mr. Ferran Costa Marimon

H.E. Mr. Ferran Costa Marimon has served as the Permanent Representative of Andorra to the United Nations Office at Geneva since March 2025, when he presented his credentials to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva. Before his appointment, he was President of the Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education in Andorra (2016–2025). His parliamentary career included serving as President of Andorra’s Independent Parliamentary Group (2022–2023), President of the Legislative Commission on Education, Research, Culture, Youth and Sports (2015–2023), President of the Liberal Parliamentary Group (2019–2022), and as a Member of the General Council (Parliament of Andorra) from 2015 to 2023. He also headed Andorra’s delegation to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly and served as a member of the country’s delegation to the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

Alongside his political career, Mr. Costa Marimon has extensive experience in language education, higher education, and sports event management, and has been an affiliated lecturer at the University of Andorra since 2015. He holds a PhD in Applied Linguistics from the University of Andorra, a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics from the University of Lleida (Spain), a postgraduate certificate in the management of small and medium-sized enterprises from Esade, and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations, with a minor in Economics, from Knox College.
