Eduardo Rodríguez's "Murales" Album Debuts at the Embassy of Mexico
Mexican guitarist Eduardo Rodríguez showcased diverse compositions from Latin-American and European composers
July 30th, 2024On 19 July, 2024, the Embassy of Mexico in Berlin hosted a concert and presentation of the album "Murales" by Eduardo Rodríguez.
Eduardo Rodriguez is a Mexican guitarist currently based in Salzburg, Austria. He began his studies of classical guitar in his hometown of Zacatecas and then continued it in Mexico City. He completed his master's and postgraduate studies in music performance at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg. Eduardo has always been influenced by the folklore of his country and the music of Latin America, with its different dances and rhythms.
The work "Murales" for classical guitar by Mexican composer Jean Angelus Pichardo is the title of Eduardo Rodríguez's first solo album. "Murales" is also the name of the central piece on the album. This piece was composed by the Mexican composer Jean Angelus Pichardo and dedicated to Eduardo Rodríguez. The album is a sonic journey through Mexican muralism.
This recording is a compilation of works for guitar that have shaped the artistic development of the performer, and features a variety of music by Mexican, Latin American, Italian, and Spanish composers. From baroque and romantic music to Spanish works with influences from the flamenco tradition and Latin American pieces with traditional rhythms.
Three pieces for classical guitar have been recorded for the first time on this CD: Murales by Jean Angelus Pichardo, Latino Dance by the Argentinian Jorge Morel and Fantasía sobre un tema de Manuel de Falla by the Catalan composer Feliu Gasull.
Eduardo Rodríguez has presented this album in Mexico, Austria, Italy, Spain, Hungary, Estonia, and the Czech Republic.
