The Embassy of India in Berlin, through The Tagore Centre, will host Echoes of Tagore: An Immersive Dance Recital on April 8th to mark the 75th Foundation Day of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). The evening promises an evocative blend of music, dance, visual art and poetry celebrating the legacy of Rabindranath Tagore.

Presented by the Yenidze Theater Company of Dresden, the performance explores Tagore’s work through a contemporary lens. Traditional Indian instruments will be fused with electronic sounds and percussion, while his poetry is brought to life through expressive dance. The venue itself will be transformed into an immersive space with visual projections inspired by Tagore’s writings and art.

Performers include Doreen Seidowski-Faust (vocals, narration), Mario Faust (sitar, trumpet), Anne Dietrich (classical and contemporary Kathak), Geowhan Ju (sound production), and Jo Siamon Salich (media art). Together, they reinterpret Tagore’s legacy with a bold and innovative approach, bridging tradition and modernity.

The event will begin at 18:00 hrs at the Embassy of India in Berlin (Tiergartenstraße 17), with doors opening at 17:15. An exclusive reception will follow the performance.

The Tagore Centre fosters a vibrant cultural exchange between India and Germany through a diverse range of activities, including classical and fusion music concerts, dance and theatre performances, wellness and yoga workshops, language classes, exhibitions, film screenings, and panel discussions.
