Diwali Festival Berlin
Come along to the Sage Beach Bar for a colourful celebration of Diwali, with food, music, and comedy

The Diwali Festival celebration will take place on the weekend 12th to 13th November, featuring 12 stands offering food and products from the Indian community. Further to this, the event will also host stand-up comedy from the Desi Vibes Comedy Group, alongside karaoke from the Sounds of India group. The after-party will take place after the event on the Saturday from 10pm until 2am the following morning. Guests can also watch the Bollywood Dance Party, also from the Sounds of India group, and more events and entertainment will be announced soon.
Diwali is the festival of light, celebrated by more than a billion people worldwide, spanning the religions Hinduism, Jainism and Sikhism. The festival is associated with Lakshmi, the goddess of prosperity, and marks the start of the new financial year in India. During Diwali, traditions include wearing one’s finest clothes, illuminating both the interior and exterior of one’s house with light, and displaying diyas - oil lamps made of clay - and rangoli - an art form involving creating patterns on the floor or tabletop using coloured powder. The celebration also involves lighting fireworks, family feasts and the sharing of sweets and gifts.
The event thus promises to offer an entertaining, informative, and lively insight into the festivities and the religions which surround it.
