Deepening the Innovation Partnership: Sweden and Germany Meet in Berlin
Swedish and German Representatives Discuss Expanded Cooperation in Security and Space Sectors
July 11th, 2024On July 5th, representatives from Swedish companies and institutions gathered at the Swedish Embassy in Berlin for an initial exchange, marking the kickoff of the enhanced innovation partnership between Sweden and Germany.
The partnership, which has been in place since 2017, was updated in May of this year to include the crucial areas of security and defence, as well as space exploration. This update marks a significant milestone in the cooperation between the two nations.
Germany and Sweden, significant economic partners and NATO allies since March 2024, are now working even more closely to advance technological innovations and strengthen security on both national and European levels.
The Swedish partners involved in this initiative include Essity, Getinge, the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in the Federal Republic of Germany, Einride, Business Sweden, BAE Systems, the Swedish Security and Defence Industry Association, Ericsson, the Volvo Group, Tetra Pak, Alfa Laval, and the Securitas Group.
This collaboration aims to foster a robust environment for innovation, contributing to the safety and technological progress of both countries and the broader European community.
