Organization of Turkic States holds major cultural and economic initiative in Vienna

The Organization of Turkic States (OTS), in collaboration with the permanent missions of its member states to the United Nations and the OSCE, hosted the high-profile "Turkic Week" in Vienna. This large-scale cultural and diplomatic initiative aimed to present the centuries-old spiritual and cultural heritage of the Turkic world while fostering contemporary global interaction. Beyond cultural displays, the agenda included a high-level roundtable at the Hofburg Palace entitled "From the Silk Road to the Middle Corridor: Strengthening Connectivity through Transport and Trade Facilitation". This discussion brought together senior officials, experts, and representatives from international organizations to focus on modern infrastructure and East-West economic cooperation. Parallel to these official meetings, a capacity-building program was conducted to strengthen the institutional ties and humanitarian coordination of Turkic diaspora organizations across Europe.
The conclusion of Turkic Week featured a gala concert and a diplomatic reception, where traditional Turkish cuisine and artistic performances highlighted the richness of the member states' traditions. This initiative has now been established as a sustainable tradition, following similar successes in Geneva, to promote peace and mutual understanding through multilateral engagement in Austria's capital.
