Cultural Bridge, a collaborative initiative involving Arts Council England, the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, British Council, Creative Scotland, Fonds Soziokultur, Goethe-Institut London, and Wales Arts International/Arts Council of Wales, announces the selection of 15 partnerships for its highly anticipated 2023–24 program. This program aims to strengthen cultural collaboration between the UK and Germany, promote social change, and address community issues through artistic projects.

Following a successful pilot year, where seven partnerships were funded, the 2023–24 program promises to make an even greater impact. Three pilot projects, ENTER, FAILSTONE, and Ode to Earth (Phase 2), have been awarded funding to continue their development through Cultural Bridge, showcasing their potential for enriching cultural collaboration.

With over 95 applications received, the rigorous selection process involved an independent jury comprising professionals from both the UK and Germany. This overwhelming response highlights the international cultural sector's commitment to creating work that drives social change and fosters bilateral understanding.

The British Council, as a key partner in Cultural Bridge, plays a crucial role in promoting international cultural relations. Its support ensures that the program reaches beyond borders and facilitates meaningful connections between artists and communities.

The 15 awarded partnerships for the 2023–24 program encompass a diverse range of projects. These collaborations bring together organizations from the UK and Germany to develop cultural initiatives addressing themes such as community engagement, opportunities for underprivileged communities, and redefining the use of public spaces.

Lastly, the program’s announcement signifies a significant step toward redefining the cultural landscape of both nations and nurturing through cultural diplomacy a strong partnership.
