The Brazilian Embassy together with Galeria Canoa organizes from the 14/06 to 09/09/2019 the exhibition of the architect and artist Sergio Ramos.

The artist Sergio Ramos has exposed his works in 80 exhibitions, and he creates paintings inspired by literature, music, architecture and everyday elements.

His works are strongly influenced by the Minas Barocco. "Barroco Mineiro" is the name given to a peculiar version of the Baroque style, developed in the state of Minas Gerais, in the colonial period of Brazil, between the beginning of the 18th century and the end of the 19th century. The term usually refers to the architecture of this period, but also had important expressions in sculpture and painting. The exuberance of forms and drama are two of its main features. The main themes are the sacred representation, the aristocracy and the daily life of the cities.

Canoa Gallery is the place where you can find, see and enjoy contemporary art and also culture and creativity. So, this is your possibility to know Brazilian contemporary art and, in this case, the expressive freedom of this author who can transform this Baroque style into a contemporary version.
