Colombian Embassy in Germany Launches Casas Colombia – Berlín 2025
Initiative strengthens ties with the diaspora through culture, education and community development
September 15th, 2025On 26 August 2025 – The Embassy of Colombia in Germany, in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Colombia Nos Une program, launched Casas Colombia – Berlín 2025, a flagship initiative designed to connect, support and promote the Colombian community across northern and eastern Germany.
Running until 31 December 2025 with an approved budget of €216,500, the project will reach Colombians in Berlin’s consular jurisdiction—including Lower Saxony, Brandenburg, Bremen, Hamburg, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Saxony-Anhalt, Saxony, and Schleswig-Holstein—while also welcoming German audiences.
The program is structured around five areas: culture and heritage, science and technology, entrepreneurship, education and memory, and digital communication. Activities will include concerts, film screenings, business fairs, academic encounters, and workshops, alongside the creation of a digital migrant memory archive and a final bilingual impact report.
“Casas Colombia – Berlín 2025 is more than a project; it is a living space for recognition, integration, and projection of our diaspora’s talent and diversity,” said Ambassador Yadir Salazar Mejía.
With oversight mechanisms such as citizen committees, independent audits, and strict compliance measures, the initiative also ensures transparency and sustainability. By combining institutional support and community participation, Casas Colombia – Berlín 2025 sets a new standard for diaspora engagement and international cultural cooperation.
