To mark the 62nd anniversary of Algeria’s Independence and Youth Day, a football tournament was held in Vienna, bringing together the Algerian community residing in Austria. On July 6, 2024, Ambassador Larbi Latrous of Algeria oversaw the event, which aimed to foster camaraderie and unity among the participants.

The football tournament featured participation from children of the Algerian diaspora, highlighting both their athletic skills and sense of community. This event was one of several activities organized to celebrate the milestone of Algeria’s independence, a significant occasion for Algerians globally.

Ambassador Latrous highlighted the significance of such events in maintaining connections within the Algerian community abroad. 

After the tournament, participants were honored in a ceremony that recognized their efforts and contributions to the event’s success. The recognition aimed to instill a sense of pride and accomplishment, reinforcing the cultural and national bonds within the Algerian community abroad.
