S.E. Lejeune Mbella Mbella was born on July 9th, 1949 in Cameroon. He has been serving as Minister of Foreign Affairs to the Republic of Cameroon since October 2nd, 2015.

Mbella Mbella is married and has four children. He did as PhD in International Relations with a specialization in Political Science, according to an official biography by the government of Cameroon. After his studies, Mbella Mbella first worked for the government as secretary to the Ambassador of Cameroon to Canada in Ottawa between 1980 and 1986. After his work in Canada, Mbella Mbella became a political advisor to the Cameroon Ambassador to France until 1993. Following many years of work in Paris, Mbella Mbella worked for the Council of Cameroon in Marseilles between 1993 and 1997. In 1997 he returned to Cameroon where he worked as the director of the Francophone department within the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Cameroon until 2002. Between 2002 and 2006 he took his first job as Ambassador, simultaneously representing Cameroon in Japan and South Korea while residing in Tokyo. In 2006 he began representing Cameroon as Ambassador to France and Portugal until 2015. Since 2015 he has served as Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cameroon and works as a representative of Cameroon at the Permanent Francophone Council.
