Berlin’s Pan-Gea Festival Strengthens Global South Dialogue
International Gathering Creates New Spaces For Intercultural Cooperation

Berlin hosted PAN-GEA, an international festival that brought together artists, researchers, activists and community leaders from Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East to promote dialogue based on shared experiences and cultural exchange.
Rather than focusing on traditional diplomatic discussions, the festival created opportunities for participants to exchange ideas through workshops, performances, public conversations and artistic collaborations. The programme encouraged South–South dialogue while connecting international communities living in Berlin with visitors from around the world.
The event explored topics including migration, environmental justice, education, identity and community participation, highlighting how cultural cooperation can contribute to addressing global challenges through local experiences.
By bringing together diverse voices, PAN-GEA demonstrated Berlin’s growing role as an international platform where cultural diplomacy extends beyond official institutions and includes civil society, artists and diaspora communities.
