News from Berlin - On May 18th the Jewish Educational Center Chabad is organizing a Jewish parade and a public barbecue. The events will take place West Berlin from 2pm. The event is based on ‘Lag B’Omer’, with its main slogan being “peace and tolerance”. All over the world the day of Lag B’Omer is celebrated as a day of Jewish unity. The idea of Lag B’Omer is to bring children and families together in a public forum to share their knowledge about the Jewish heritage.

The idea behind this parade is to give people the opportunity to get to know Jewish culture, celebrate it and enjoy it. The Jewish community wants to create a positive atmosphere and a peaceful coexistence in Berlin. Because of this reason visitors, no matter what church or what religion they belong to, are all welcome.

The parade starts at 2pm in Olivaerplatz with live DJ-sets, party trucks and Jewish electronic music. At 3pm the event continues on the grounds of the training center of Chabad in Münsterschen Straße, where many stalls, traditional kosher specialties, a stage show, music, attractions for kids, campfires and much more will take place.
