From October 6 to 25, 2025, the city of Berlin will once again host Barrio | Bairro Berlin, a dynamic cultural gathering dedicated to celebrating Latin American literature and creativity. Building upon the momentum of its inaugural edition in 2024, the event continues to chart a unique cartography of Latin American voices in the German capital — now looking boldly into the future.

The initiative began as a virtual map, collecting and showcasing Latin American cultural projects, initiatives and events across Berlin. Over the past year, this map has evolved across three temporal dimensions — past, present and future — through the active participation of writers, artists and cultural organizers who shape the Latin American literary scene in the city.

As part of the 2025 edition, Barrio | Bairro Berlin offers a rich program that includes: Panel discussions; Readings and book launches; Film screenings; Performances and concerts; and Art exhibitions. These events will take place across several important cultural venues in Berlin, including Salón Berlinés, the Ibero-American Institute, Instituto Cervantes, Andenbuch, Lettretage and other independent spaces.

Barrio | Bairro Berlin 2025 is not only a celebration of language and identity, but also a platform for dialogue, experimentation, and community-building. It reflects Berlin’s growing role as a cultural hub for Latin American writers and artists in Europe.
