On the 10th of September 2019 in the Bürgerhalle of the Rathaus in Wolfsburg, the photo exhibition "Italians of Germany" will be launched. Present at the exhibition will be the Italian Ambassador Luigi Mattiolo, the General Director for Italians abroad at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Luigi Vignali, in addition to numerous other guests and representatives of the Italian community. On this occasion,    it´s homonymous book and web documentary will also be presented.

The location of the inauguration of the exhibition, Wolfsburg, was chosen for it´s historical importance with regards to Italian migration in Germany. The project is a journey through historic communities, exploring family and individual stories of mobility in eight German cities: Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Cologne and the Ruhr, Wolfsburg, Hamburg, Berlin, Leipzig and Munich, which has been and still is fundamental for the construction of the common European identity.

The aim of the exhibition is to share the story of the arrival of Italian communities in Germany in the early twentieth century, where we can learn about their integration and the contribution they have given and still give to building Germany.
