11th Chinese Ambassador to Germany Says Goodbye

The Ambassador reflected on his years of service in a goodbye speech

As the five-year term of Chinese Ambassador to Germany Ken Wu is coming to an end, he gave a goodbye speech at the reception in celebration of the 97th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army.

In his speech, Ambassador Wu took the opportunity to say goodbye and express his gratitude to representatives of various professional and social circles in Germany including the Federal Government.

Looking back on his more than five-year term of office, Ken Wu shared it had been an honor represent China in Germany and that he always felt obliged to sow friendship, strengthen cooperation and promote understanding.

The past five years have been like no other, said Wu. In contrast to the profoundly changed global situation due to the coronavirus pandemic and geopolitical conflicts, the Chinese-German relationship will always remain a factor of stability in the relations between China and Europe.

Wu drew a positive conclusion about the pragmatic cooperation and pointed out the pioneering and strategic role of the political leaders, who have recently remained in lively exchange with each other.
