Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in collaboration with Maastricht University organizes an event for Berlin Science Week entitled The future of a data-driven society; perspectives from the Netherlands and Germany

Berlin Science Week is an international gathering, bringing together people from the world’s most innovative scientific institutions to celebrate science, to connect and engage with the local and international science community and the public. It is dedicated to the dialogue between science and society to inspire a deeper understanding of our world. Berlin Science Week fosters interdisciplinary exchange and encourages participants to connect and learn from each other.

The use of data drives many new developments in our society. Industry, healthcare, information services and many other aspects of our daily life are changing rapidly due to new data technologies like artificial intelligence and computing. As these changes do not stop at borders between countries, it is essential to engage in an international debate to learn from each other.

At the event, renowned speakers from the Netherlands and Germany will discuss the impact of data on different sectors of society. To create an interesting discussion, speakers from different disciplines, both advocates as well as critics of the digital society, will take part. After these lectures there will be an interactive discussion with the audience and a network reception.
