TGD Science Prize : a Symbol of the Turkish-German Collaboration

News from Berlin – As a symbol of the friendship between Turkey and Germany, an award ceremony will be held on June 4th, to celebrate the scientific Turkish Community in Germany, by the Türkische Gemeinde in Deutschland (TGD, Turkish association in Germany). A science prize will be awarded to draw attention to the talented researchers from Turkey who take part in the development of sciences within German universities and/or German research centers.

The ceremony will start with a speech from the Chairman of the TGD Kenan Kolat, followed by Prof. Dr. Johanna Wanka, the German Federal Minister for Research and Education. It is also very likely that the Turkish Minister for Industry, Technology and Science Fikri Isik will attend the ceremony and give a speech as well. The attendees and the nominated candidates for the prize will then have the opportunity to listen to some musical performances which will celebrate the strong cultural links between Germany and Turkey. After this artistic moments, the award will be attributed, before a reception be served and a conclusion speech be made.

The ceremony will take place at the Auditorium Friedrichstraße, Friedrichstr. 180, 10117 Berlin from 19:00 to approximatively 21:30. More information can be found at: www.tgd.de.
