The Seoul Tutti Ensemble will honor the commitment of the people of Korea and Germany to peace and reunification through two concerts in Mannheim and Stuttgart. The concerts carry hope that the in the future even more Korean cultural events will take place in Germany.
Both Korea and Germany share the experience of division and that is why the two countries have a very special relationship with each other. The year 2019 marks the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall and the 100th anniversary of the Korean independence movement. Both events, the fall of the Berlin Wall on 9th November 1989 and Korea’s independence movement of 1st March 1919, were an expression of people’s desire for freedom and independence.
The Seoul Tutti Ensemble has contributed to the world of classical music for 31 years through its top-class performances. The orchestra was founded in July 1988 by pianist Ok-hee Lee to enrich the Korean music scene and stimulate international music exchange through various performances. Since its beginning, the ensemble has given numerous concerts and it has been one of Korea’s most active formations for chamber music. It enjoys great popularity as an orchestra that performs a wide repertoire of diverse music.
The Seoul Tutti Ensemble performs various creative project concerts and provides a positive echo in the world of classical music. It is a catalyst in the relatively inactive classical music market by producing a variety of creative music. Among the special performances of the Seoul Tutti Ensemble is the joint concert with the Kammersymphonie Berlin "Seoul meets Berlin - Tradition and Modernity" at the Konzerthaus Berlin on the Gendarmenmarkt in September 2016. Since then the orchestra has had numerous international appearances. To celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2018, the Seoul Tutti Ensemble also released a CD with a live concert.
The Seoul Tutti Ensemble will perform in Mannheim on 6th June 2019 and in Stuttgart on 7th June 2019.
