Ambassador Sizani and Minister Plenipotentiary Cassimjee met with Mercedes Benz members

On September 5th 2019, Ambassador Sizani and Minister Plenipotentiary Cassimjee went to Stuttgart to officially recognise the investment of 600 Million Euros made by Mercedes-Benz in South Africa.

Mercedes-Benz made a huge investment in South Africa in order to launch the C-Class, which might help reviving the economic growth of the country. In this regard, South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa, stated: “This investment by Mercedes-Benz Cars endorses South Africa as a favourable destination for investment; and correspondingly, demonstrates our determination to work with all social partners to seize the opportunities that are opening up for greater investment and faster growth.” 

Moreover, the Embassy representatives met with Dr Stefanie Hinz, “Director of the Department Strategy, Law, Foreign Trade and European Affairs of Baden-Württemberg”, in order to discuss South Africa latest developments. The meeting provided the German Government and the South African embassy an opportunity to strengthen relations, reflecting their ongoing commitment.
