The Madagascar Embassy has a new initiative to promote Madagascar to students. The Embassy visited the Torhorst-Gesamtschule, a public school in Oranienburg on 20 February 2019.

The young students at the age of 16 and 17 had the opportunity to discover the culture and the land of Madagascar, presented at the Torhorst-Gesamtschule by a representative of the Embassy. This approach, initiated by the Embassy, is a way to promote Madagascar to the new generation in order to raise their awareness in learning more about the country.

The initiative rose from the fact that today’s students will eventually be potential tourists and investors in Madagascar. This approach also allows exchanges on twinning projects between German and Malagasy public schools. The initiative thus successfully promotes cultural diplomacy between the countries.
