Concert of Cathy Heidt and Ayaka Shigeno at Luxembourg Embassy in Berlin

The Luxembourg Embassy organizes a concert of violinist Cathy Heidt and Japanese pianist Ayaka Shigeno as part of concert series Young Luxembourg Classic Talents.

Cathy Heidt, holder of the Fondation de Luxembourg scholarship, has been studying with Professor Mark Gothoni since 2016 at the Berlin University of the Arts. At the age of 6, she began studying violin at the Conservatoire de Musique du Nord in Luxembourg with Professor Claude Jacoby. As a soloist Heidt has already performed with the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra (OPL), the Brandenburgisches Staatsorchester Frankfurt and the Konzerthausorchester Berlin.

Ayaka Shigeno began to play the piano at the age of 5 and was taught by her mother. At 14 she came to England to study at the Yehudi Menuhin School. After graduation Shigeno moved to Berlin and received her degree in 2017 at the Berlin University of the Arts. Her teachers include Marcel Baudet, Renana Gutman, Pascal Devoyon and Rikako Murata.

The concert will start at 6:30 pm on Thursday, January 17th 2019 at the Luxembourg Embassy, Klingelhöferstraße 7, 10785 Berlin. The program will include works by Johannes Brahms, Eugène Ysaÿe and César Franck.

Note that the number of available seats is limited and registration is required until January 14th at luxemburg-veranstaltungen.eu
