UPAA Launches the 2016 Edition of ‘Orientation Booklet’ for Filipinos in Germany

‘Intended to help Filipinos to integrate in to the German culture and society’

Past and present officers of the UP Alumni Association (UPAA) Germany e.V, Ms. KC Caguioa-Moenich, Ms. Vicky Villar-Demmer, Dr. Jingky Lozano-Kuehne and LBC´s Ms. Ross Sazon turned over copies of the 2016 edition of the Orientation Booklet for Filipinos in Germany to Embassy officials Ambassador Melita Sta. Maria-Thomeczek, Minister Donna Rodriguez, Minister Adrian Cruz, First Secretary Catherine Torres and Second Secretary Rona Beth Goce.​

The 2016 edition of the orientation booklet was launched by the University of the Philippines alumni Association Germany e.V and was authorized by UP alumni Jingky Lozano-Kuehne and Maria Renee Juan-Wolff. The orientation booklet contains practical tips and information including instructions on obtaining residence permits, filling in bank SEPA forms, scholarship sites, useful web links and basic German words and mannerisms.

This information booklet is intended to be of use for visiting Filipinos and newly arrived migrants, in order to help them to integrate into German culture and society. However the booklet and its information would be of excellent use to visiting scholars, professors, scientists, diplomats and tourists, as the booklet contains information about Germany in general including current issues and the personal experiences of the authors.

The first edition of ''The Orientation booklet’’ was published in 2014, in commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the Philippine-German bilateral relations. Furthermore, in cooperation with LBC Express GmbH, printed copies of the booklets have been produced and will be turned-over to the Philippine Embassy in Berlin for distribution to its consulates and clientele, Copies of the booklet will be shared with churches and organizations hosting Filipino congregations.
