The World of Sholokhov Exhibition at the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Berlin

The exhibition presented editions of the Sholokhov's works in different languages

From March, 26th till April 3rd, the exhibition “The World of Sholokhov: Don Cossacks”, organized by the M. A. Sholokhov State Museum-Reserve, was held at the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Berlin.

The exhibition presented to the residents and guests of the German capital, the life and work of the great Russian writer and Nobel Prize winner in literature, Mikhail Alexandrovich Sholokhov. Visitors were able to learn about the Don Cossacks, the main characters of Sholokhov's works, but also about the activities of the M. A. Sholokhov State Museum-Reserve situated in Rostov region, Russia.

The exhibition at the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Berlin presented editions of the writer's works in different languages, his photos with family members and famous people, including photos with the first cosmonaut of the planet, Yuri Gagarin. Among the exhibits, there were illustrations of the works of Sholokhov made by the famous Soviet artists Orest Vereisky and Yuri Rebrov, and cultural objects from everyday life of the Cossacks of the Upper Don, including hats, shoes, etc. The guests of the event were able to watch fragments of documentaries about the life and work of the great writer, listen to folk Cossack songs and get acquainted with the State Museum-Reserve M. A. Sholokhov, where they carefully preserve the heritage of the writer. The museum has more than 70,000 rarities in the collection: manuscripts, books, documents, objects of ethnography.
