The World of Fashion Comes to the RED Ballroom

The RED Ballroom was Descended Upon on the Evening of 19th January by People from the World of Fashion to Celebrate the United Fashion Event Hosted by Frank Hannig

Berlin Fashion week takes place twice annually in January and July. It was established in July 2007 and since then has continued to receive international attention from many creative young designers who want to succeed in the fashion capital of Berlin as well as well know people from the fashion industry all over the world.

Running parallel to Berlin Fashion Week, the RED Ballroom hosted the United Fashion event on the evening of 19th January. Before the show started some designers had their products on display in the entrance hall so as people as they arrived could get a taste of what was to be seen in full, later that evening as well as being able to purchase them. In attendance at the event were many VIPs including Joelina Drews who enriched the program of events with a live singing performance, Drews was accompanied by her boyfriend Marc Aurel who was previously on “Deutschland sucht den SuperStar”. The event was also attended by Maren Gilzer, who is a successful actress with her own collection of clothes and jewellery. In an interview with one of the Berlin Global team she said “I love the colour blue, it is one of my favourite’s it is the colour of peace and opening”. Also in attendance were Gisela Muth and Claudia Carpendale a well known designer. 

The United Fashion event was hosted and organized by Frank Hannig from the inspiration of fashion having no boundaries and with regards to the current political situation in Europe, the word ‘united’ he deemed of importance. Frank opened the show and introduced the first fashion line from Marion Roscher and her brand Rochmädchen, the feel of the clothes was of opulence with feathered head pieces on the models. The second show from Trachtenwahnsinn designed by Bayern based Manfred May who designs traditional Bavarian Drindl dresses for women as well as traditional clothes for men. Following this Cindy Morawetz, the Hamburg based designer presented her Dress 2 Impress range which comprised of sophisticated dresses for sophisticated women. The final show before some entertainment was Beata Halena Couture with Mucca Pazza Taschen which featured both male and female models.

Next up, the famous German singer Joelina Drews gave an exhilarating performance of Adele’s Hello which captivated the audience. Following on from this, beautiful jewellery from Perlensalon was walked down the runway. Also on display were handbags from LiebJU Taschen designed by Hana Kiera Nagy. Kevin Brian Smith a contestant from “Deutschland sucht den SuperStar” also performed live whilst the models were on the catwalk. The final instalment was from Black Habour by Dominik Heinrich which featured seven different looks including jewellery and lots of feathers. The Finale of the show featured each designer with two models accompanying them down the runway. 

Following on from the runway show there was a short pause whilst the winners of the awards were decided, during the break Unique Company presented their cosmetics on stage. The event closed with the awards ceremony which saw Frank Hannig give a number of awards in different categories to the designers. All guests in attendance enjoyed the night immensely and it was a great way to kick off Berlin fashion week!
