News from Berlin - The Embassy of Brazil will host the film Gonzaga. This movie, which is an important part of Brazilian filmography, will be screened on October 28 at 19.00. This film is inspired by the biographies of two musicians who were father and son; Luiz Gonzaga and Gonzaguinha. The film was directed by Breno Silveira and the screenwriter was Patricia Andrade. The film will be screened with English subtitles.

The plot of this film is based on the story of Luiz Gonzaga (Cambinho do Acordeon); he decides to leave home and an unsuccessful romance to go to a big city in order to change his destiny. Upon his arrival he meets a woman, Odaléia (Nanda Costa), and falls in love with her. After the birth of their son and due to the health problems of his wife, Gozanga turned back to his musical career. He wanted to guarantee studies and a good future of his son, thus along with his friend he started a tour from Rio de Janeiro around Brazil.

This movie is based on the journey between father and son and how their relationship was established. This is how the story of Rei do Baião and Gonzaguinha (Júlio Andrade) has reached the cinema. It is the story of a love that was so strong that overcame fear, forgetfulness and distance.
