87th Birthday Celebration of His Majesty Bhumibol Adulyadejs

The Embassy of Thailand organizes ceremony on the occasion of His Majesty’s birthday

On December, 4th and 7th special guests of Hotel Martim ProArte Berlin were invited to celebrate the 87th birthday of the King Of Thailand, His Majesty Bhumibol Adulayedejs. The Ceremony was opened by Her Excellency Ambassador of Thailand, Nongnuth Phetcharatana.

At the ceremony on December 4th, there were over 400 guests. Among them were officials from German Governmental Institutions, Diplomatic Corps as well entrepreneurs. Micheal Fuchs, member of the German Bundestag made a speech in which he promoted development projects for Thailand. During the ceremony, guests had the chance to enjoy Thai culture, through listening to traditional Thai music and eating national food.

On December 7th, 600 members of the Thai community in Germany took part in a second ceremony for the 87th birthday of His Majesty Bhumibol Adulayedejs. The main part of the ceremony was preceded with the National Anthem of Thailand. Five Thai Citizens were awarded with Royal Distinctions. It was an act of gratitude for their involvement in supporting the Thai community in Germany. Four German Citizens were awarded with “Certificates of Appreciation”. There was also a time for a cultural element in the ceremony, where Sawis Techabhuwanon, the famous Thai actor performed.

King Bhumibol Adulyadej was born on December 5th 1927 in Massachusetts . His Majesty Bhumibol Adulyadej has been the King of Thailand since June 9th 1946. His coronation was on May 5th 1950 and he is the world’s longest-serving current head of state and the longest reigning in Thai history. Furthermore, he is the ninth monarch of the Chakri Dynasty.
