Singapore and Germany have close relations on a bilateral and multilateral level. Singapore’s significant role in the regional organization ASEAN, its stability and its regional significance make it an important partner in Asia for Germany. The good relations between the two countries were enhanced by frequent mutual visits of high-level officials such as the visit the Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong payed to the German Chancellor Angela Merkel in 2015.
