The Embassy of India in Berlin to host Numerous Cultural Performances

The month of June is packed with events that celebrate dance and music from India

Throughout the month of June, the Indian Embassy is set to host a variety of dance and signing concerts that celebrate Indian culture and tradition. Starting on June 3, the Indian Embassy will host an event featuring Bharatanatyam dance.

Bharatanatyam dance is one of the many classical dances of India. This specific type of dance highlights various aspects of art forms and references to historical stories and mythology. Shilpa Nanjappa will lead the performance. As a dancer, she has had over 200 solo dance performances worldwide.

Following this feature of Bharatanatyam dance, the Indian Embassy will host numerous other concerts throughout the month of June. The schedule is as follows:

June 5: Dhrupad concert (vocal music accompanied by a string instrument)
June 12: Folk music concert (featuring Smt. Malini Awasthi, an Indian folk singer)
June 13: Fusion concert (mix between traditional-spiritual Indian songs and electronic samples)
June 25: Bharatanatyam dance

All events take place at the Embassy of India (Tiergartenstr. 17, 10785 Berlin). Free admission for a maximum of 200 guests with a valid India, German, or other valid identity cards.
