Embassy of Sri Lanka offers two Buddha statues to the Embassy of Cambodia in Berlin

On June 7, the Ambassador of Sri Lanka in Berlin , H.E Karunasena Hettiarachchi, officially handed over two Buddha statues to Cambodia’s Ambassador Sopharath Touch, at the Embassy premises. The statues were donated with the assistance of Sri Lanka’s Air Chief Marshal Kapila Jayampathy.

H.E Ambassador Hettiarachchi expressed his willingness to collaborate with Cambodia in matters related with religious celebrations of Buddhism and festivities. He stressed that the gifting of Buddha statues was a token of friendship between the two countries which both follow the Theravada Buddhism.

The Cambodian Ambassador was delighted by the act of friendship of the Ambassador of Sri Lanka and assured Cambodia’s engagement and collaboration in the future religious events organized by the Sri Lanka Embassy in Berlin.
