The event will be hosted by the Finnish Embassy and the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Berlin and will be held on January 24th at the Felleshus. A musical program will take place, curated by the Finnish composer Kaija Saariaho and the widely known performers, flute soloist Camilla Hoitenga and chamber-music cellist Anssi Karttunen.

The magazine holds a celebration of Stig Sæterbakken (one of Norway’s most acclaimed and controversial writers) and Can Xue (a Chinese author). To honor the work of Sæterbakken, the Norwegian author Svein Jarvoll joins the editors Herdis Eggen and Audun Lindholm. The program will include readings from the fifth issue, presented by the poet and artist Cia Rinne as well as by other special guests and coordinated by the co-editor of the magazine, Daniel Medin.

The list of participants also includes Herdis Eggen (senior editor for Norwegian fiction at Cappelen Damm), Madeleine LaRue (associate editor and director of publicity for Music & Literature), Audun Lindholm (editor of the Norwegian journal Vagant) and Aurélie Maurin (a freelance curator, translator and editor for numerous cultural institutions and literary magazines).

Music & Literature magazine publishes literature about and by under-represented artists from around the world and offers readers a comprehensive coverage of each artist’s entire career. It was recently celebrated by the National Public Radio, as one of “the bravest and most exciting literary magazines to appear in recent years”.
