Indian Embassy Screens Highest Gross Indian film of All Time

On July 22nd, the Indian Embassy in Berlin will host a screening of the Indian blockbuster PK.

PK is an Indian satirical science fiction comedy, and the highest gross Indian film of all time.

The film received positive reviews and won several awards. Indian news organisation, Firstpost, described the movie main character, an humanoid alien, as “A socially awkward and 'different' young man – who walks and talks in a strange, enthusiastic childlike manner – observes the system, questions it, asks you to look at the many ludicrous things that inform it, and eventually brings about a minor revolution.” The movie went on to earn more than 7 billion rupee (EU€108 million).

Starring in the films is Aamir Khan, one of the most popular and influential actors in the Indian film industry. He is the recipient of numerous awards and was one of TIME's 100 Most Influential People in the World in 2013. Mr. Khan is also considered to be an activist and humanitarian. His co-star is Anushka Sharma, an Indian film actress and producer. She has won several awards and is an activist for women's empowerment and animal rights.

The film starts at 6 PM and is approximately 150 minutes long. The language is Hindi, with German subtitles. Admission to the film is free, and it can be watched by a maximum of 200 guests.
