The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Berlin would like to invite you to the screening of the Sri Lankan film “BHAVATHARNA” - ferrying through the endless cycle of birth with English subtitles on October 12th 2018.

On the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the Diplomatic relations of Sri Lanka and Germany (1953-2018), the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Berlin will organize the film screening of “BHAVATHARNA” - ferrying through the endless cycle of birth at Interkulturanstalten Westend e.V., Berlin.

Among the series of events organized by the Sri Lanka Embassy in Berlin to celebrate the 65th Anniversary of the Diplomatic Relations between Sri Lanka and Germany, the film “BHAVATHARNA” - ferrying through the endless cycle of birth which won the prize of “BEST FILM” in the Dehli International Film Festival (DIFF) 2015 was selected to introduce to the public in Berlin.

“BHAVATHARNA” - ferrying through the endless cycle of birth is directed by Sri Lanka’s young director Daevinda Kongahage in 2015 and this is his debut movie. The film plot is based on an untold chapter of Sri Lanka’s history during the Kandyan kingdom, under the rule of King Keerthi Sri Rajasingha, where a few aristocrats plotted against the king. Recently, “BHAVATHARNA” has been also awarded the "Excellent - Most Outstanding Film" award in the International category at the Asia Tourism Induced Film & Television Awards Festival (ATIFTAF) 2018 held in China.
