News from Berlin – From 9 to 13 June, German energy companies showcased their products and services at the occasion of the Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy initiative in Cuba, which included participants from Central America. The business trip was organised by the German Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Central America and the Caribbean, and benefited from the support of the German Embassy.

The trip offered the opportunity for German companies to collect information on market conditions in the area of energy efficiency and renewable energy within the food industry.

Cuba represents a very promising partner for German specialist firms as it benefits of the latest technology as well as an excellent reputation in the sector.

Since 2011, the German consulting company EnergieWaechter GmbH has assisted in the organisation of a number of conferences and business trips which support German small and medium companies to develop in overseas markets. In the past, it has held some events informing on market conditions in Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Argentina, Tunisia, China, Ecuador, Morocco and Chile.

A conference session was held on 11 June during which the German participants were presented to local specialists. The two following days were devoted to individual Cuban talks with potential partners.
