Promising Bilateral Ties Between Uzbekistan and Qatar

On June 7th, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov welcomed in Tashkent the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar, with the residence in Tehran, Mohammed bin Hamad Al Hajri.

The Hon. Minister of Foreign Affairs accepted the credentials and congratulated the new Ambassador on the beginning of his mandate in Uzbekistan. The Minister expressed his best wishes in achieving the goals meant to strengthen bilateral relations.

The parties discussed auspicious fields for development of Uzbekistan as Qatar relations reveal a significant potential for Uzbekistan in trade-economic, investment, tourism, cultural-humanitarian and other areas. The two diplomats agreed to conduct the first meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission in the second half of the year. The parties also addressed some regional and international issues at the meeting.
