President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa to make an Official Visit to Germany
Embassy of Portugal announces that President Steinmeier will host President Rebelo de Sousa in Berlin to consolidate the bilateral relations between Portugal and Germany

The President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, will make an official visit to Germany from 7th to 9th August at the invitation of his German counterpart, President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
The President of the Republic will be received with military honors in Berlin and will have a meeting followed by lunch with President Steinmeier.
This visit aims to consolidate the bilateral relations between Portugal and Germany, continuing the level of excellence that characterizes the relationship between the two countries in all dimensions, be it institutional, academic, cultural, scientific and economic. It will also provide an opportunity to address a range of relevant themes at European and multilateral levels.
At the invitation of the German President, President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa will also participate in the official opening event of the Hanse Sail 2019 Maritime Festival which takes place annually in the city of Rostock on the Baltic Sea.
The President of the Republic will also meet with the Portuguese community in Berlin and will participate in the inauguration of the first solo exhibition by artist Paula Rego in Germany.
