This Monday, April 13th, an opening of an exhibition “Paris-Berlin-Moscow” simultaneously took place in Berlin, Moscow and Paris. The Berliner part of the exhibition is taking place from April 13th to 19th at SMAC Gallery.  The exhibition presents the work of young photographers whose pieces lay out different views on three European capitals. As the project’s creators stated, “Paris-Berlin-Moscow” is a contemporary view of the three capitals. While developing the theme of the exhibition, they asked themselves: what is the city, how can the essence of the city be shown through artistic works and what makes the similarities and differences between Paris, Moscow and Berlin?

Since the photography is the favored technique among young artists, creators decided to give young photographers the opportunity to show their vision of these cities and the thoughts, feelings and dreams they evoke. Berlin’s exhibition differs from the other two because, alongside photography as the main artistic technique, all kinds of other artistic techniques are used, as well.

Paris-Berlin-Moscow is a project of three young students who had to come up with a cultural project to validate their Bachelor. They came up with an idea of a contemporary representation of three European capitals: Paris, Berlin and Moscow. Little by little, the idea took shape: that of the “Paris-Berlin-Moscow” exhibition to be held simultaneously in the three capitals.
