Official Launch of the Biorescue Program

The Kenyan Embassy launched a program aimed at protecting endangered animals

H.E Ambassador Joseph Magutt, Ambassador of Kenya attended a press conference organized to officially launch the BioRescue program for the rescue of the Northern White Rhino at Tierpark Berlin.

The BioRescue Program aims to protect endangered species, specifically the White Rhinos of Africa, through state-of-the-art reproduction and stem cell technology. This technology shall ensure the survival of many different species of endangered animals and this could be the last chance for the White Rhinos which is threatened with extinction.

The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research supports this program in the efforts of the conservation of many endangered animals. The program is in cooperation with the Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research (Leibniz-IZW) and the significant participation of the Max Delbrück Center of Molecular Medicine (MDC).
