Mystical Piano-Light-Show ‘Stairway to Heaven’ at the Russian House of Science and Culture

News from Berlin - M. Glinka Music Salon at the Russian House of Science and Culture will host a piano concert with elements of a light show performed by Russian pianist and composer Benjamin Levitsky. Levitsky was born in Kiev in 1972. In 1990 he graduated from the N. Lysenko Secondary Music School in Kiev and became the prize-winner of the Republican Contest of Young Pianists in the very same year. Between 1990 and 1993 Mr. Levitsky studied at Kiev State Conservatory in Piano and Composer classes. He continued his education at Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory and graduated in 1997 as a composer. During this time Benjamin also took classes of Piano at the State Musical Pedagogical Institute named after M.M. Ippolitov-Ivanov. In 1998 Levitsky became a member of the Russian Composers Union.

Since 2001 his professional career has been tightly bound up with Germany. He lived in Stuttgart and Karlsruhe, taught in Winnenden and moved to Berlin in 2004. From that time Mr. Levitstky has been working as a composer, teacher and concert pianist.

The program of his concerts usually includes his own pieces, the interpretations of pop and rock music as well as the masterpieces of world classics. This time the music pieces of Levitsky, Mozart, Bach, Wagner, Scriabin, Liszt along with the Doors, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd will be performed. The concert will take place on Friday, May 16th at 19:00.
