Mercedes has taken different kinds of initiatives in order to develop the growth of children and explore their talent worldwide, such as “Charity Marathon”, “Traffic Safety Education Program” and “Picture Contest.”

It has organized its “Charity Marathon-“Give ‘N Race” at Banpo Riverside Park, including around 2000 participants with 3 different courses. Dimitris Psillakis, CEO and President of Mercedes-Benz Korea reflected on this initiative: “It is remarkable that by participating in the marathon, you not only run for your health, but also save the precious lives of children” He also mentioned that, “We pursue new technologies and innovations as a leader in the auto industry, but as responsible corporate citizen, we endeavor to contribute for the new giving culture that combines health and joy.”

All the money raised from the initiative will be donated to the Seoul Metropolitan Children’s Hospital for the treatment of young people who are seriously ill. In total 200 million Euro were collected from entry fees, on-site donations and the Mercedes-Benz’ CSR fund.

Mercedes-Benz Korea also hosted the “Emotion Contest” in order to analyze different behaviors, expressions and objects which define our traffic safety, which will be used as part of an online and offline campaign of children safety.

In addition, Mercedes-Benz Korea also arranged three programs such as “Mercedes-Benz Mobile Kids”, “Mercedes-Benz Mobile Academy”  and “Mercedes Benz All together”. “Mobile Kids” was aimed at promoting diverse experience and role playing games about the practical safety tips, “Mercedes-Benz Mobile Academy” was to provide hands on training for Korean engineering students and “Mercedes Benz All together” pursued the volunteering activities for local employees and executives.
