From May 2nd to May 5th, 2019, the Lakino Film Fest will host the 7th Latin American Short Film Festival in Berlin and thus allow its visitors to learn more about and experience Latin American culture.

The Latin American Short Film Festival aims to give its visitors the opportunity to experience the spirit of Latin America through selected short films from Latin American creators that combine different sights, sounds, and stories from Latin America. According to the Lakino Team who organized and will host the festival, the event strives to give a voice to Latin American films and filmmakers “by shedding light, spreading love, and celebrating diversity”.

The program of the 7th Latin American Short Film Festival Berlin includes 32 selected shorts films from 15 Latin American countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, or Peru. The genres represented include animation, documentary, fiction, and experimental. All works will participate in the competition program called “Journeys through Latin America”.

The short film festival will take place at three different venues across Berlin: At the Kino Movimiento in Kreuzberg, the Central Kino in Mitte, and the City Kino in Wedding. The opening ceremony will be held at Kino Movimiento on the 2nd of May at 8PM.
