Klunkerkranich new cultural program: 15-22 June

Klunkerkranich is a rooftop bar at the top of a shopping centre, located in the heart of the Neukölln neighbourhood. It opened in the summer of 2013, and it combines a community garden (the Klunkergarten) and a relaxed rooftop bar, and a lot of cultural events.
Located in Karl-Marx-Str. 66, 12053 Berlin, the bar is located on the rooftop of the car park of the Neukölln Arcaden shopping centre. The fact that there are no signs until one reaches the access ramp located on the last floor of the mall. This makes the bar a kind of secret place among the locals and gives us the feeling of belonging to a restrictive cool group, once we are inside.
The initiative for creating such a place came from a group of Berliner entrepreneurs, who decided to restore a former garage roof, into a space both indoors and outdoors, with a roof garden, a bar, and a kitchen. With all this space, Klunkerkranich became the host of all sorts of events, in the fields of music, cinema, art, education, research, sustainability, design, and others.
The atmosphere in the bar is unique, with a privileged sky view over the roofs of Neukölln, and some unusual decoration: inside there are couches, and outside there are plants, a sandbox for children, and sometimes, the staff even provides a splash pool, for the hot days.
The highlights for the month of June will be Fuchs & Elster, Rucky Holger, Easyset & Mr. Blackbeard, on 15th June; Polychrome Sounds presenting The Germans from Germany, Fronco & Monty, and Spatzhabibi, on 16th June; Come Closer meets Phil Barbee, Laura Selig, Bobby Bobdon, Abba Lang & Dj Fresh, on 17th June; “St. Praticks Day” party with MAZ (live), Michi (live), Rave AG, Oktave B und André Schaaf, on 18th June; “Blogrebellen Sunday Joint” party with Welle One Love, Nie Low, pEtEr, Without Field, Buzz Boris & Marinelli, on 19th June; “Monday Roast” party with Broshuda & Special Guests, on the 20th June; “Jazzy Jam all night long” party, and a After Jam with Falko Teichmann, on the 21th June; and, finally, So It Goes, No Plastic, Duncan & Meridian, on 22th June.
