It is characterised by fast spins and very detailed movements, which are enhanced by the sound of more than 100 ankle bells.

Plot

Originally, the kathak dancer was a storyteller, explaining ancient stories and legends of Hindu mythology in the temples of the Braj region. The performance at the Indian Embassy is divided into four parts. The first part will consist of short compositions and foot percussions in complex rhythmic patterns. This part is culminated in movements that reflect the rapidly sung syllable language of musicians. In the second part, rhythmic dance pieces will be interwoven with poem. The Third part of performance includes a short music solo. Sajjan, the last part, is a presentation of the life-episodes of Krishna.
