Germany Invites Colombian Delegation for Educational Trip to Munich

News from Berlin – From July 1st to July 4th Colombian decision-makers gathered in Munich in the context of an initiative of the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy, the ‘Exportinitiative Erneuerbare Energien’ (export initiative renewable energies). The Colombian representatives of politics and economy took part in the educational trip to the topic ‘Off-Grid – Energy supply in off-grid areas’. The participants got an insight into the current development and innovations in German energy markets. Since the Colombian Market focuses on solar projects, bioenergy and small hydropower to generate electricity the agenda emphasized on these issues.

On July 1st, a kick-off meeting was held in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Munich, informing about the German market. Since also German businesses could participate in the event, the meeting offered the opportunity of networking to foster the cooperation of Germany and Colombia. Due to the durable economic growth and the increasing demand for energy in Colombia, the country offers great market opportunities for German businesses. In addition, the great number of hours of sunshine in Colombia and its all-year constant winds offer perfect conditions for the use of renewable energies.

Concurrently, another event took place in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Munich informing on the above mentioned technologies in Colombia.
