News from Berlin - The 8th edition of the Jazzdor Festival will take place every evening from June 3rd to June 6th, from 8pm onwards, at the Kesselhaus, in Prenzlauerberg, Berlin.

First created in Strasbourg in 1986, the Franco-German jazz festival Jazzdor was exported in 2007 to Berlin, where it has since introduced contemporary French Jazz stars to German audiences. This year’s eighth edition of the festival takes place at the Kesselhaus, a former industrial land turned into a cultural center in the heart of Prenzlauerberg. From June 3rd to June 6th, the festival will stage an eclectic, diverse and intergenerational jazz programmation, introducing four French bands remaining almost unknown in Germany, for now.

Among the headliners of the festival will be the famous French clarinetist Louis Sclavis, le Trio Q, the duo “Ametsa” and the Hans Lüdeman T.E.E. Ensemble, formed by eight Franco-German musicians led by pianist Hans Lüdeman. The closing evening, on June 6th, will be led  by the Orchestre National de Jazz, conducted by the guitarist Olivier Benoit, and all concerts will be broadcasted on Deutschlandradio Kultur (http://www.deutschlandradiokultur.de).
